Ice Hockey at Skate Frederick is fun and exciting. From clinics and summer Camps, to our spring in-house and learn to play programs, we offer year round training.
Under the direction of Hockey Director, Sylvain Cardin, and a team of qualified coaches and instructors, players learn the technique and skills to succeed. Sportsmanship, discipline, the development of individual and team skills and the overall enjoyment of playing are emphasized.
Sylvan comes to Skate Frederick with a vast knowledge of the sport of hockey. He grew up in Montreal, Quebec, Canada where hockey is not just a sport-it's a way of life. Sylvain played the game his entire life including many years as a goal tender. He earned his bachelors degree in Physical Education with a specialty in the preparation of the high level athlete. Sylvain also holds Master of Science and PhD degress in Exercise Physiology. His coaching background includes Mites through Midgets, for boys and girls teams in Canada and the United States, including the prestigious Chicago Show case in the role of Team South Coach. He has worked with the US and Canadian Olympic teams as well as several of the National Hockey League teams. Sylvain has been involved with Skate Frederick and the Frederick Fury travel teams for four years where he has demonstrated his successful teaching techniques with goalies, defensemen and forward players at all levels.
During the summer months, Skate Frederick brings in a team of dedicated professionals with NHL and Olympic experience to work with our athletes. We offer a range of training experiences designed to fit the needs of the individual player. Go to our camps link to find out more.

We have a host of opportunities to learn the game of ice hockey or join an existing club. For the beginner adult, we offer on-going instructional clinics.
